Live Band History
Live was formed in York, Pennsylvania in 1985 by four teenagers:
Ed Kowalczyk, Patrick Dalheimer, Chad Gracey, and Chad Taylor. Their band started out as a middle school
talent show performance. For the
next six years, Live performed various shows until they got a record deal. In
1991 their first CD, Mental Jewelry, was released. Over the next fifteen years, Live released seven more CDs.
They rose to success with their second album, Throwing Copper. There is a new Live CD coming out early
this year. However, in June 2009, Live said that they were taking a break for
two years while they worked on their own projects. Ed Kowalczyk is supposed to
be releasing a solo CD by the end of this year. Chad Gracey and Patrick
Dalheimer are performing in different bands. Chad Taylor is still in Live
looking for a new lead singer.
